Shaun White did not finish clean and win the gold this time in the 2014 Winter Olympics held at Sochi, Russia. Before the Olympics started, he was enrolled in two events. He was enrolled in the Halfpipe, like always, and the new event of Slopestyle. Shaun White dropped out of the Slopestyle which was held on February 9th because he wanted to focus on his main event which was Halfpipe. He dropped out of the Slopestyle also because while practicing a few days prior, he had fallen and hurt his wrist and already had a hurt ankle. He thought it was too dangerous and too risky to be going down an exposed mountain before he was supposed to be competing in the Halfpipe.
The Halfpipe he competed in was held on February 11th. Shaun White surprisingly did not place in this event. Everyone was shocked because he was going to receive his third gold medal in the event which would have been the first time in history that anyone got three gold medals in the Winter Olympics. Shaun White placed fourth. He did not receive any metals this time.
Shaun White, also known as the "flying tomato", had a sloppy run during the Halfpipe event. His tricks were amazing and the most difficult compared to everyone else. Most of his landings were ugly and he could not land his tricks for some reason. During the landing of one of his tricks, he landed on the side of the ramp looking as if his board almost snapped in half. People have said that the bottom of the Halfpipe ramp was all slush and not hardened snow, which could have been one reason for his sloppiness.
Shaun Whites biggest competitions were from Switzerland and Japan. The Gold was won by Iouri Podladtchikov from Switzerland. The Silver was won by Ayumu Hirano from Japan and Bronze was won by Taku Hiraoka also from Japan.
Everyone knows Shaun White as one of the greatest snowboarders of all time, hopefully during the next Winter Olympics he will win gold and be the first person to win three golds in the Winter Olympics ever. Shaun White still holds the highest score for the men's Halfpipe since the Winter Olympics in 2006, even though he did not end up placing this year. He is still the best in people's eyes.

Michael Sam
Times are changing and people are accepted more frequently. It will set a good example for other athletes that are scared to come out. Michael Sam is brave. If he is not accepted in the NFL just because he is homosexual, then something has to be done. No one should feel discriminated against especially someone with his talent at the sport. He is an All-American football player who has not done anything wrong to deserve to be hated or not accepted.

the gangster in the huddle
Hernandez had a tough life growing up. He was involved in or linked to six murders in four incidents. His father died at the age of 49 due to an infection received on the table during a surgery. His mother remarried when Dennis died to the man she was cheating on him with during their marriage. The new husband was a crack head and abused Hernandez's mother badly. He was devastated after the death of his father. He wouldn't talk at all for a long time. He was involved in a gang and that took over his life. He always carried a glock .45 with him for protection because he thought someone was going to kill him in his gang. His coaches knew he was involved in illegal activity but decided to let it go and do nothing because they knew about his past and they did not want it to hurt his future. The cops should have stepped in and done something because the coaches weren't and he had not father to lead him in the right direction. Hernandez is responsible for his own actions. he knew what he was getting himself into with the gang and the violence and the drugs. Athletes appear so untouchable because everyone worships them and if they get into trouble people will get mad at the law. Also the law does not want to be the ones who get the athletes in trouble. Hernandez was on the drug Angel Dust and thought that his gang was going to murder him. he murdered or participated in the murder of his friend Lloyd because Lloyd's cousins did not want him hanging with Hernandez because of the illegal stuff he is involved in.

Sad Ending
I predicted that the Denver Broncos were going to defeat the Seattle Seahawks. Sadly, the Seahawks defeated the Broncos. The Denver Broncos played very poorly during the game. they were not focused at all. Eric Decker missed some passes which ended with them only getting one touch down. Peyton Manning played his worst game ever last night. he is considered to be one of the best quarterbacks ever and he kept throwing the football over everyone's head so no one was able to catch it. I guess the cold weather did get to him. Wilson, the quarterback on the Seattle Seahawks had an amazing game. The Seahawks scored 43 points on the Denver Broncos. I was very disappointed in the Broncos for losing so badly and only getting 8 points in the end. The Halftime show was not as bad as I thought it would be. My favorite commercial was the Budweiser one with the Clydesdale horse and the little puppy. It was so cute!! The Broncos had an awful game and they should feel embarrassed about losing so badly to the Seahawks. I am furious that the Broncos lost. I do not think it should have ended like that. Even though i do not like Peyton Manning, I do think the broncos should have scored more points. If they had taken out Peyton and put in their back up quarterback, I think the broncos would have played better. You have to do what is best for the team and taking out Peyton was what they should have done. Also the Hero's Welcome Superbowl Commercial that Budweiser made was so precious and the fact that the soldier and his wife were at the game last night.
