Racism and Bruins
The Boston Bruins played Montreal and there were a few fans on twitter that posted negative remarks against defenseman P.K. Subban. People then were going crazy saying how all Bostonian's are racist and ignorant which is completely false. Many of the tweets were deleted after the fans saw their actions and saw what they were saying and how offensive the tweets were. Most of the tweets were not even Boston Bruins fans. The media went nuts especially since racism is so big right now with the Donald Sterling fiasco. If the media sees or hears any bit of racism they are going to make a whole story out of it even if it is out of context. This twitter problem that just happened was extremely hurtful though. It was not necessary to post anything so rude because it reflects on the entire fan base which it should not because most people are not racist. The Bruins president addressed the negative tweets and comments made by those people and was very polite in saying that just because those people decided to say those uncivil things, does not mean everyone that is a fan of the Boston Bruins is racist and that they should not blame all Bostonian's for the careless peoples comments. They should take responsibility for their actions and own up to it and apologize because it was uncalled for to say what they said. I do not think that the tweets should have brought up this much attention though because a lot of fans have negative hurtful things to say about the rival teams. Twitter is always reliable because its so accurate and people update theirs like crazy.
What is a sport?
I think
a sport is something that involves activity and movement. Physical activity is
what makes a sport a sport. When the activity you are doing keeps you in shape
and proactive, then I think it should be considered a sport because it is
keeping you fit and healthy. Most people do not consider cheerleading a sport,
but when they are twirling around and throwing people and catching people I
think it is a sport. If the cheerleaders are just standing around waving their
hands and yelling and cheering, I do not consider it a sport because they are
not doing anything but standing around. I think it all depends on what they are
doing for the activity to be considered a sport.
When
you are standing around a table with a paddle in your hand and dinking the ping
pong ball over the tiny net, it is not considered to be a sport in my eyes.
Also chess is not a sport because yes you have skill, but there is not
athleticism in it at all. Chess, Ping Pong, Botchy etc. are considered to be
hobbies rather than an actual sport. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion
but if there is no physical activity then I do not believe that it is a sport.
The sport does not need to have a ball involved, but most people would argue with that and say that to be considered a sport it has to have a ball. Not in my eyes. Yoga and ballet are definitely sports because the involve staying in shape and movement. Just because it is in the Olympics does not mean it is a sport though. Ping pong is in the Olympics and i do not think it is a sport, but an activity because it only involves movement of the arms and hands. No other physical activity. I think curling is a sport though because you have to move across the ice and use a lot of your muscles to brush the ice to make the disk go which ever way and how far you want.

Red Sox Season
The Red Sox have made it to 12 World Series since the team was started in 1901. They won 8 World Series Championships out of the 12 they played in. I am predicting that they will make it far this season because the team won the World Series last year. The Red Sox will go far into the playoffs this season due to their previous winnings. I have a good feeling that they will also make it to the World Series once again and make this their 13th time entering the World Series and the 9th win for them in the World Series. I am also predicting that the Red Sox will make it to the World Series with The St Louis Cardinals again because their teams were clearly the best. The Cardinals have won the World Series 11 times in their total career. The Red Sox beat them last year and they have also played each other a few more times in the past. I predict the Red Sox will win the World Series for 2014.

Lance Armstrong and His Not So Good News
Lance Armstrong WAS one of the best cyclists ever to ride a bike. I say WAS one of the bests because he was recently stripped of his seven Tour de France titles and his bronze medal from the Olympics back from when he won in 2000. After years of denial, he finally came clean about his use of illegal drugs that helped him win everything. He admitted to using erythropoietin , testosterone, cortisone, human growth hormones, illegal blood transfusions, and other blood doping. Armstrong stated that he would not have been able to win any of his titles without his use of illegal drugs to better his performance. The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency released over 1,000 pages of evidence in doping allegations against Armstrong. He should have been caught a long time ago if they have that much evidence.
This sport will keep a close eye on the athletes from now on and prevent anything like this from happening ever again. Every athlete should be examined or drug tested for these enhancers because it is an unfair advantage that will eventually catch up to the user in the end just like Lance Armstrong. The idea is to preserve the integrity of the competition. Many athletes have given up the sport because they were not the best anymore and refused to use steroids and performance enhancement drugs. If people need drugs to make them better at a sport, then they should not be competing in that sport because clearly they are not good enough and they do not have any confidence in themselves to win and think they can win.

Sandusky Scandal
Jerry Sandusky should be behind bars forever. He got caught and should pay the price. His team counted on him and trusted him to lead them and guide them, but he let them down and abused numerous boys. I do not think the families were in it for the money, there was no way someone could lie about what happened to them in such detail. Jerry Sandusky was caught showering with the boys, which should not have been going on because the coach should not be showering with you, they should be in a separate bathing area. Jerry's wife, Dottie, was completely unaware of what was happening under her own room while her husband and the boys were in the basement. She could have been sleeping or busy or even ignoring the screams that were said to have not been heard by her. Professional athletes and coaches are above the law because people and people of higher levels in the law depend on them to play and people are big on sports, so it gives them an automatic pass when they do something wrong or get in trouble. Most of the time they are let off with a warning or a slap on the wrist and then they are on their way doing the same stuff they were just caught doing. Jerry Sandusky should not be allowed out of prison for the crimes he committed and thank god hes staying there because he is a coach and this time he did not end up with a slap on the wrist he was thrown in prison. If he was really innocent, he would have fought harder to stay out of prison.
