Racism and Bruins
The Boston Bruins played Montreal and there were a few fans on twitter that posted negative remarks against defenseman P.K. Subban. People then were going crazy saying how all Bostonian's are racist and ignorant which is completely false. Many of the tweets were deleted after the fans saw their actions and saw what they were saying and how offensive the tweets were. Most of the tweets were not even Boston Bruins fans. The media went nuts especially since racism is so big right now with the Donald Sterling fiasco. If the media sees or hears any bit of racism they are going to make a whole story out of it even if it is out of context. This twitter problem that just happened was extremely hurtful though. It was not necessary to post anything so rude because it reflects on the entire fan base which it should not because most people are not racist. The Bruins president addressed the negative tweets and comments made by those people and was very polite in saying that just because those people decided to say those uncivil things, does not mean everyone that is a fan of the Boston Bruins is racist and that they should not blame all Bostonian's for the careless peoples comments. They should take responsibility for their actions and own up to it and apologize because it was uncalled for to say what they said. I do not think that the tweets should have brought up this much attention though because a lot of fans have negative hurtful things to say about the rival teams. Twitter is always reliable because its so accurate and people update theirs like crazy.
